I adore this Orange Cloud smoothie. It’s light, fresh and not too sweet! I started this morning by putting all the fruit and the carrot in the blender and mix until just smoothed. At this stage, it’s a bright peach color that earned the smoothie its name. I then add my two big handfuls of spinach and press them into the mixture before blending.
2 Apples (quartered and seeds removed, skin on)
2 Clementine oranges peeled
1 Large carrot (unpeeled) broken into 2 pieces
1 Cup purple grapes
2 Large handfuls of frozen peaches
2 Large handfuls of fresh spinach
*Approx. 1 cup of water or a little more to get the blender going easier
Berry Friday (Serves 4)
Sometimes my two kids want a smoothie, but they balk at the idea of me putting anything green in theirs. So I start their breakfast smoothie with some yummy fruit!
I do throw a few spinach leaves in, and they can’t tell! This is a great recipe to sneak in greens because the blueberries’ purple color hides the spinach. The Friday smoothie can be interesting because it’s usually made from the week’s leftovers. I try to rotate greens using kale, spinach, chard, mixed greens and broccoli. I have also found that adding a slice of lime (with the rind) gives any of these smoothies a tangy citrus kick!
Here’s the full recipe to try on your family!
